What’s Your Productivity Style?

Do you hate your to-do list? Or do you love checking things off with a flourish? Is your life mapped out on a calendar for the rest of the year, or did you stop tearing off the sheets to your Dilbert desk calendar when you got to a comic you liked?

There’s no one style of getting things done that suits everyone. That’s why you may have tried various methods in the past with less than success.

Before setting out on a path to achieve greatness in productivity and efficiency, you should first discover your productivity style so that you’re playing to your strengths, not leaning on your weaknesses.

The ThirtyDays. To method takes productivity styles into account. That’s why determining your personal productivity style is one of the first steps.

There are four productivity styles that have been defined by the “experts.” You may find your style varies between two of them, or even alternates depending on the task at hand. Most people have a dominant style, though, that suits them best.

The Four Productivity Styles

The Prioritizer

Logical, analytical, facts-based, and (sometimes) a little too critical. Big-picture and Execution-focused.

The Planner

Loves scheduling things. Sometimes seems to be a Prioritizer, but more in the details.

The Arranger

A natural communicator. More empathic than the other styles. The team-player.

The Visualizer

Usually undertakes multiple projects at once. Is intuitive, creative, and focused on the big-picture.

What am I?

I’m generally a Visualizer, except that I LOVE messing around in data and digging into the details. So, I’m a Visualizer/Planner.

Which style do you think suits you best? Check back this week for more detailed information about each productivity style, and don’t forget to join our private Facebook group, Thirty Days to… You!
